The Power Of Visualization
There comes a time in most of our lives where we think that we are not going anywhere, your progress have become stagnate and your goals are becoming a further reach then they have before. This is a normal sensation and many of us have already experienced this in some sort of form. It is important to not give up when this happens and the reason we experience these emotions is because many of us aren't equipped with the tools to motivate ourselves. Contrary to what many believe, self motivation is a skill and just like any other skill it needs to be learned and practiced in order for you to be able to call on it effectively.
Visualization is a powerful tool in the self motivation tool box. It uses the power of our imagination to build desire and help you achieve the goals you have set for yourself. Visualization has been used by successful athletes, business men and woman and just about any field imaginable. It is a sort of meditation where you fixate your thinking upon having completed your dreams, you put yourself in the position of completing your goals. Visualization has four important benefits: it activates your creative sub-conscious, it programs your brain to focus on what you may need to accomplish your goal, the law of attraction is activated and it builds self motivation. All four these benefits allow you to focus on ways to get to where you want to be, it opens up new ideas and challenges you to rethink your approach. The most important thing about visualization is that it is easy to learn and can be done anywhere, anytime.
The process of visualization is simple,
Firstly you need to relax your body and clear your mind, therefore visualizing in the morning could be the most powerful but you can visualize anytime you feel comfortable. Once you feel like you are relaxed and that you have a clear mind you can begin. It is important to focus on one goal when you visualize, visualizing multiple goals at a time is far less effective then focusing on just the one. The key to visualizing is putting yourself in the position of already having completed the goal, for example if your goal is to lose 10kgs by a specific date because there is an important event that you have to attend and want to look good for, imagine yourself at that event having already lost the 10kgs. Create a setting that shows yourself why you embarked on this goal in the first place, but be sure to focus on every single detail that you can. What are you wearing? How do you feel? Are you alone or in a group? What is everyone saying? What can you see, hear or smell? Going back to the example of losing weight, you have now put yourself at the event, think about the compliments you will receive, the emotions you have for accomplishing the goal, the people who will be at the event, remember to not leave any stone unturned. Dive deep into the senses of your visualization, it is important to make the visualization as strong as possible. The deeper you submerge yourself in the scenario the better the effect of the visualization will be. One thing to remember when visualizing, is that you have to add emotion to your visualization because the emotions you visualize is the emotions that will drive you to complete your goals.
Visualization is an important tool to have and could be the driving factor to you completing your next goal. If it has worked for Jim Carrey, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Oprah Winfrey, it will definitely work for you.
